Voyage description
Embark on a remarkable 5-day Mediterranean journey aboard the Santa Maria Manuela, starting in the vibrant city of Barcelona, continuing to the picturesque island town of Ile Rousse in Corsica, and ending in Genoa, Italy’s maritime gem.
Our adventure begins in Barcelona, where Gothic and modernist influences blend seamlessly. Wander through the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, marvel at Gaudí’s architectural wonders like the Sagrada Família and Park Güell, or relax at Barceloneta Beach while savoring tapas and fresh seafood.
Once aboard the Santa Maria Manuela, experience the thrill of life at sea. Join the crew in hoisting sails, steering the ship, or simply unwinding on deck as we chart a course toward Ile Rousse, Corsica.
During the voyage, participate in hands-on sailing activities, take knot-tying lessons, or enjoy the spectacular views from the bowsprit or mast. Share stories with fellow travelers over a drink as the sun sets over the Mediterranean horizon.
In Ile Rousse, immerse yourself in Corsica’s historical charm, vibrant markets, and breathtaking coastal scenery.
At the heart of Île-Rousse is a charming square lined with cafés, restaurants, and shady plane trees. Visit the Marché Couvert (Covered Market), housed in a beautiful 19th-century hall with stone columns and sample local cheeses, charcuterie, honey, olives, and fresh produce, or wander through cobblestone streets, or relax at pristine beaches. Sample Corsican delicacies like charcuterie and local wines while soaking in the island’s unique charm.
After a day of exploring this Corsican gem, we sail north to the grandeur of Genoa with its historic buildings and winding cobbled streets, a city often referred to as the “Gateway to the Côte d’Azur” due to its rich contrasts.
We then set sail for Genoa, which awaits with its winding alleys, stunning palaces, and delicious Italian cuisine. Be sure to explore the UNESCO-listed Old Town and enjoy fresh pesto, a specialty of this Ligurian region.

The second night of our trip was sky clear enough so we could see all those stars and Milkyway. And we were so lucky that at the same moment, we reached the place with a lot of plankton that was fluorescent. It was a very magic moment.

Many small moments with different crew members made this navigation magical: share the spectacle of a sunset or dolphins playing at the front of the boat, participate in maneuvers, ...etc

Plein de moments magiques pendant le voyage. C'était impressionnant de voir le bateau depuis le zodiac quand on se trouvait à environ 50 ou 100 m du navire. Super la baignade en pleine mer.
